Mj Geronimo started being a
campus journalist when she was still in elementary. She’s been joining press
conferences from Grade 5 to 4th year High School. Due to her love and passion
for journalism, she took up BA Broadcast Communication in college and graduated
as Magna Cum Laude in 2018.
She auditioned for Stand For
Truth, a newscast of GMA Public Affairs which started airing online. Now, it
also airs on GMA News TV from Mondays-Fridays at 10:15 PM. It is the only
newscast which practices mobile journalism. The chosen reporters are mobile
journalists who only use their smartphones to cover news, produce short
documentaries and features.
She started in Stand For Truth
just this June. According to her, her most memorable coverage is the Batanes
earthquake, and her short feature-documentary on the controversial mining
company in Nueva Vizcaya.
“Good journalism makes one see the society in a different light and inspires her to take action -- all for the betterment of those in need.”
