Your little hands wrapped around my finger
And it's so quiet in the world tonight
Your little eyelids flutter cause you're dreaming
So I tuck you in and turn on your favorite nightlight
To you, everything's funny
You got nothing to regret
I'd give all I have honey
If you could stay like that
Oh darling don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
Just stay this little
Oh darling don't you ever grow up, don't you ever grow up
It could stay this simple
I won't let nobody hurt you
Won't let no one break your heart
No one will desert you
Just try to never grow up
Never grow up
You're in the car on the way to the movies
And you're mortified your mom's dropping you off
At fourteen, there's just so much you can't do
And you can't wait to move out
Someday and call your own shots

“Growing old is mandatory; growing up is
optional. ”-Chili Davis
As I walk past by similar streets
I grew tired of them realizing that I’ve been through a lot.
Slowly, a piece of candy no longer makes me
happy, a hug makes me too emotional, life gets harder, I no longer long for a
cup of hot chocolate for it’s too sweet, a balloon is just a plastic inflated
with hydrogen, I’d rather sleep than laugh and socialize with people, I think
that may childhood dreams are stupid and unreachable, I am growing up.
The reason why I love Taylor
swift’s song NEVER GROW UP because it makes me dream again, it makes me feel
how being a child is important how growing up is inevitable but I can always go
back and smile how beautiful it is to be a kid. How a piece of candy is more
than enough for me to be happy, how a hug is everything, how beautiful life is
when you aim silly dreams with an excited heart like everything else is
possible, how a balloon isn’t just a piece of plastic filled with hydrogen for
it is happiness on a string floating in the air, how my friends is my keeper I
must talk with them, how I wish I’d never grow up.
“Take pictures in your mind of your childhood
room; memorize what it sounded like when your dad gets home. Remember the
footsteps, remember the words said and all your little brother's favorite songs
I just realized everything I have is someday gonna be gone” This part of the
song made me love it. It made me wish that I could go back and tell myself to
do it, to not rush things, to be happy because someday, you will wish to have
it back.
Whenever I listen to this song,
each line makes my heart smile, it gives me hope and makes me realize that it
is really true that change is the only permanent thing in this world, that I
must enjoy every moment and treasure it because today is once in a life time.
What’s done has been done no replays no rewind just play. I must keep the kid
in me alive. This world and time is too cruel for not giving us a chance to
stay in a moment so we must grab and cherish it forever.
“This world may require you
to grow up, never let the kid in you die.” –PatMonse
"Never Grow Up" is
a song about the fact that I don't quite know how I feel about growing up. It's
tricky. Growing up happens without you knowing it. Growing up is such a crazy
concept because a lot of times when you were younger you wish you were older. I
look out into a crowd every night and I see a lot of girls that are my age and
going through exactly the same things as I'm going through. Every once in a
while I look down and I see a little girl who is seven or eight, and I wish I
could tell her all of this. There she is becoming who she is going to be and
forming her thoughts and dreams and opinions. I wrote this song for those
little girls.” –Taylor Swift
